Andrei is a young man from Moldova who lives with his mother and 16-year-old sister on the outskirts of Rome and, at just 20, has long since taken on the role as breadwinner of the family. He has a cool car, a tuned BMW that he likes to race on deserted roads, a decent job as a stablehand and a talent for music
that he hopes will one day allow him to escape the routine of everyday life. Nicolò Ballante‘s film straddles the line between documentary and fiction.
He accompanied Andrei for four years, trying to get closer to his life and his dreams, initially with the idea of a script that would give his narrative some
stability. But then life took its own course and brought Nicolò‘s film very close to Andrei and his family. ‚Tineret‘ means ‚youth‘ in Moldavian and describes
the carefree nature of the moment, in which the melancholy that this time and the dreams of this time will end always resonates. In the end, life has written
a better script, but perhaps happy endings only exist in the movies and in the dreams of youth. A movie that will not be easily forgotten.
