A Wasted Night

Aya and Asuka work as escorts, and their daily routine is an endless succession
of clients and trivial news. This evening is hardly any different from their usual
nights - after both have dispatched their clients, their shuttle breaks down today
and they find themselves on the night streets of Tokyo. Their journey back home
leads to a deep conversation about what they really want out of life.
»A Wasted Night« approaches the sex workers of the Japanese mega-metropolis
without any prejudice. The viewer is taken into this world as carefully as the two
women who approach each other that night. At some point, every smile from Aya
or Asuka touches our souls, until we follow the two of them to a fairy-tale ending.
A moment we all long for. At the end of the movie, we have spent a night with two
soul mates and this night was anything but ‚wasted‘. Is there anything better a
movie can achieve?
