Corona Measures

The International Film Festival Oldenburg is more than happy that analogue cinema can be experienced again this year. People should come together and celebrate culture and, above all, our love of film.

It is the goal of all of us to create and experience moments that are both wonderful and safe. That's why there are a few precautions this year too:

Contact tracing

Before each event and at each venue, we are required to collect all guests’ contact details. Please use the luca app for this or fill out a contact form on site.

3G – Geimpft, genesen oder getestet (vaccinated, recovered or tested)

During the festival week, Oldenburg will once again be the venue for an international exchange of filmmakers and enthusiasts from all over the world. In order to be able to experience this eagerly awaited exchange in as normal a way as possible after such a long social abstinence, all guests will be required to show proof of either convalescence, proof of vaccination or a negative test certificate.

Festival test-centre

Oldenburger Testzentrum

To also make testing as easy as possible, this year the Oldenburg International Film Festival has partnered with Hedgehog GmbH, the operator of some of Oldenburg's Corona test centres and containers.

The test container in 91er Straße, in immediate vicinity of our festival centre CORE Oldenburg and several screening venues such as the Casablanca Cinema and the Exerzierhalle, will therefore offer extended opening hours for our guests.

These can be found here:

It is possible for festival guests to be tested in the test container without prior appointment but by showing the respective event ticket. In any case, the necessary contact and consent forms must be submitted before testing. This can be done either on site or in advance via this link:

The container will be clearly marked as a special festival test container.

Face masks

In general, it is compulsory to wear a face masks that covers both the mouth and nose during the festival. The mask can be removed as soon as you have taken your seat.

Two exceptions to the above rules are the Opening Gala in the Congress Hall and the Closing Night in the State Theatre. In order to enable the greatest possible utilisation of capacities here, the wearing of a face mask at the seat applies in the Congress Hall as well as an extended 3G rule in the State Theatre, i.e. access is only possible with appropriate proof (Vaccinated / Tested / Recovered). Only PCR tests that are not older than 24 hours will be accepted as test proof on this evening. Test centre rapid tests will not be accepted.

A check will be made at the entrance to the State Theatre. Please have the relevant proof and a valid identity document at hand.

As checking the respective proofs requires a certain amount of time, we would ask you to plan in some extra time accordingly.

A mask must be worn in the building, and in the case of the Closing Night, even during the event, after you have taken your seat.

There will be enough disinfectant dispensers at the various venues and we kindly ask our guests to make use of these on entry to each event, and in between.

At the red carpets, it is compulsory for the press to wear a face mask. This ensures protection against infection even if the minimum distance of 1.5 metres might not be possible to keep. We also ask all press representatives to also follow the 3G rule and to show either a proof of full vaccination, convalescence, or a negative test certificate.
